Welcome Reception, Tuesday 26th, 2014

The welcome reception of Euro-Par'2014 will be held at Praia da Luz on Tuesday 26th, 2014, 18:45-20:45. Praia da Luz is a bar/restaurant by the sea side with a lovely esplanade overlooking the beach. This is a place with a fantastic view of the sunset.

Travel to the event: Buses will depart from the Fénix hotel at 18:30 to take all participants entitled to the welcome reception. The same buses will bring everyone to the hotels at 21:00. Those wishing to stay longer, can later take a taxi from "Praia da Luz" to the hotel (approximate cost should be 5-7 euros).

River Cruise + Taylor's Port Cellars + Conference Banquet, Thursday 28th, 2014

Buses will depart from the Computer Science Department at 18:15 towards the historic centre of Porto, near ribeira and D. Luiz bridge, to board for a 45 minutes cruise on the Douro river, crossing the 5 bridges.

The cruise will end just in Gaia's river band, near all Port wine cellars. Participants will then enjoy a short walk towards the guided visit to Taylor's Port wine cellars.

The cellar's visit ends at the Barão Fladgate (Taylor's) restaurant were aperitifs and drinks will be served prior to the conference banquet. The view of Porto from the terrace of Taylor's restaurant is magnificient, namely the Ribeira landscape and D. Luis bridge. Dinner will be served at Taylor's restaurant.

Transportation back to the hotel: buses will bring all participants from the restaurant to their hotels. Those wishing to walk to ribeira and historic centre can do it and then later catch a taxi to the hotel (aprox. cost 5-7 euros).
